OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Standards for the Construction Industry
This course is designed for personnel in the private sector interested in teaching the 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety and health outreach programs to their employees and other groups. Special emphasis is placed on those topics that are required in the 10-hour and 30-hour programs and those that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guideline. Participants will be briefed on effective instructional approaches and the use of visual aids and handouts. Upon successful completion of the course and passing the written Outreach Program exam, participants will be authorized to conduct both 10- and 30-hour construction safety courses and will receive completion cards.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of the OSHA 510 course or equivalent construction training and 5 years construction safety experience.
OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Standards for General Industry
This course is for private sector personnel from all types of industries. It is designed to present detailed information on how the provisions of the OSH Act may be implemented in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities, the appeals process, record keeping and Voluntary Protection Programs are covered. This four-day course also includes an introduction to OSHA’s general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Upon successful completion of the course and passing the written Outreach Program exam, participants will be authorized to conduct both the 10- and 30-hour voluntary compliance courses and will receive completion cards.
Prerequiste(s): Completion of OSHA 511 course or equivalent general industry training and 5 years general experience.
OSHA 510 Standards for the Construction Industry
This course introduces private sector personnel to OSHA policies, procedures and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles.
OSHA 511 Standards for General Industry
This four-day course is an introduction to OSHA policies, procedures and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles. The scope and application of the OSHA general industry standards is discussed. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are most hazardous, along with recommended abatement techniques.
